After the success of the Nike Air Max 1, Tinker Hatfield sat down to improve upon his design. In 1990, he concluded his redesign with the creation of the Air Max 90, which featured a bigger Air bag and more sophisticated layering. This rendition features a premium leather upper with a striking Fuchsia palette. Nike and Air Max branding appear on the tongue and sidewall in white for contrast. At the heel, a visible Max Air unit provides a responsive feel.
